MULOBEZI, Zambia — A major road rehabilitation project undertaken by the Zambia National Service (ZNS) is advancing smoothly in the township area of Sichili located in Mulobezi District.
Authorities report construction crews have made significant progress resurfacing and restoring a 7.5 kilometer stretch of key local roads accessed by Sichili residents.
The over K1.7 million road repair scheme falls under the government’s Constituency Development Fund (CDF) which finances major community upgrade works.
Officials state ZNS construction battalions were contracted as part of the Sichili township roads refurbishment initiative earmarked by Mulobezi civic leaders as a CDF priority project for 2023-2024.
Residents have already noted immense improvements on previously worn roads since initiation of the tax-funded rehabilitation project.
District administrators expect works by ZNS engineers and crews to be fully completed on schedule thanks to few hiccups so far.
The successful road overhaul will bring relief to Sichili locals long desperate for infrastructure upgrades in their neighborhoods. It also demonstrates efficient utilization of CDF resources to uplift rural areas in line with national development goals.
